Ethnic minorities will have access to intensive studies of the Georgian language at Georgian Language House, where with no age limitations everybody will be able to study the state language; for the abovementioned purposes, study programs have been designed, teachers have been selected and retrained.
Lessons in Georgian language will be delivered to school principals, teachers, public officials, entrants and other interested individuals with the help of specifically designed textbooks oriented on rapid teaching techniques. Upon Minister’s decision, every teachers who will manage bilingual teaching (in both native and Georgian language) of the subject in non-Georgian schools, will receive supplemental salary in the amount of 200GEL.
Georgian Language
Houses will be gradually opened in all ethnic minority regions. Five Georgian
Language Houses are already functioning in the regions of Samtskhe-javakheti
and Kvemo Kartli. From the following year, such centers will start functioning
in other districts of these regions. Georgian Language House will be opened in
Kakheti region as well.
Georgian Language Houses are being coordinated by Zurab Jvania School of Public
Administration. The School was established upon President’s initiative and aims
to design and implement professional-educational programs for public officials
of ethnic minorities working in government sector.
