The Minister wished happy New Year to the volunteer teacher in Gardabani

The Minister, Dimitri Shashkini and the governor of Kvemo Kartli, Davit Kirkitadze, visited a family of Teona Abuladze – a volunteer teacher and participant of the program “Georgian Language for Future Success” and congratulated her on the New Year.
The young volunteer teaches the Georgian language in the village of Karajala, Gardabani municipality, she lives in a host family in the village and provides assistance to 700 Azeri schoolchildren in learning of the state language.
Teona Abuladze established a Georgian language club at the Karajala School; she is actively involved in all projects and programs initiated by the Ministry.
The young volunteer teacher holds BA in Law and plans to pursue MA studies in Pedagogy.
The program “Georgian Language for Future Success” was launched in September 2011 by the initiative of the President and aims to enhance Georgian language among the ethnic minorities. Recruiting the native Georgian teachers in the public schools of the regions of Samtskhe- Javakheti, Kvemo Kartli and Kakheti is one of the components of the program. 150 volunteers have been already engaged in this program. These teachers teach various school subjects together with the local teachers and conduct the lessons bilingually.
Georgian citizens, who are native Georgian speakers and hold B.A, M.A and PH.D degrees, are qualified to participate in the above mentioned program. The Ministry will provide a full funding of M.A program for those volunteers who wish to continue their studies at master level. Participation in the project qualifies the volunteers to pass the teacher certification exams without going through an induction period.
