Georgian Climate Calendar

Georgian scientists recently have developed a new methodology of determining weather forecasts and used it to generate a climate calendar for different regions. This project was financed by the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia in the scope of the State Scientific Scholarship Competition. The results of the research were presented to representatives from the Scientific Foundation of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, as well as other researchers. 
The accomplishment of such a feat involved the careful study of the changes in the Georgian climate for the last 150 years; the scientists took into consideration geographical aspects of the country and the results of human impact on the environment to create an electronic database. Thanks to this research, daily average climate features of Georgia -- such as temperature, humidity, and sediment -- have been determined.

As scientists emphasized, it is the first attempt to create a climate calendar in Georgia, and now it will be possible to determine the daily weather forecast of any region of Georgia.

The calendar will be very useful for the fields of tourism, health, agriculture, and engineering. 

The two year scientific project was financed with 100 000 GEL by the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia.

In the 2012 Ministry budget, 24 million GEL has been allocated for scientific works. As part of grant contests, more than 2,000 Georgian scientific research projects will be financed.
