Employers Forum in Vocational College “Ikarosi”

The Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Irine Kurdadze, attended an Employers Forum organized by Vocational College “Ikarosi” and the Georgian Employers Association. The forum was also attended by representatives of the private business sector, international organizations, and business partners of the college. 
At the forum, the Vocational College “Ikarosi” presented a new strategy for its faculties and vocational education. The college’s representatives also introduced a plan for vocational education oriented on employment, which had been developed with the Ministry of Education and Science.

More than 50 famous and successful companies, tourism agencies, representatives of restaurants and construction companies participated in the Employers Forum. . The organization of such events is very important, as from now on colleges will be funded through a voucher system; therefore, attracting more students with education programs oriented on the realities of the labor market has become a high priority.  

In the vocational college “Ikarosi”, 600 students study in the fields of tourism and service. The forum showed a high demand for such professions, so the graduates will have more opportunities to gain employment. The representatives of private business expressed their interest and desire to work with the graduates of the vocational colleges in the future.
