By developing the modern information and communication technologies and launching electronic education management system, EMIS aims to further support the education sector.
Till 2012, EMIS was a structural unit of the Ministry and played an important role in introduction of the modern IT technologies in education field. In 2011, EMIS administered the high school exams (CAT model), supervised the process of provision of all public schools with the Internet, new computers and servers.
Participants of the working meeting were informed on the planned activities of the newly established LEPL and types of data and data sources to be developed by the institution, including E school, E student, and more.
EMIS closely cooperates with the USAID Education Management Project (EMP) to create an information system that provides accurate and verifiable data and produces reports for data-driven decisions.
Establishing an IT academy is one of the crucial projects to be developed by EMIS. The academy will offer various courses in IT field and will prepare qualified workforce in this direction.
