The Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, with the support of the United Nations Children Fund (UNICEF), is implementing the project “Supporting Development of Pre-Schools Education Sector at Local Levels.
In the scope of the project, a
forum was held at Ilia State University. The forum was attended by the Deputy
Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Irine Kurdadze, representatives of
other Ministries, members of Tbilisi City Hall, International Organizations, and local
NGOs. During the forum, presentations were made on the current activities
implemented under the project. Participants also discussed the priorities of
the project and set new goals.
The aim of the project is to improve the quality of pre-school education, to organize trainings for teachers of kindergartens, and to support kindergartens with necessary education materials.
As part of the program, respective academic personnel passed trainings at the basis of six higher education institutions of Georgia. Representatives of all municipalities also passed trainings on the topic “Development of Pre-School Education in Georgia”. Now the six higher education institutions are developing the new pre-school education programs.
