International School of Design in Georgia

An International School of Design will be opened in Georgia as part of the Georgian Technical University. The school will be under the patronage of the famous automobile designer Giorgetto Giugiuaro. In this regard, designer Giorgetto Giugiuaro, together with his son, Fabrizio Giugiaro also a famous designer, and Dr. Giancarlo Perini, is paying a visit to Georgia. Italian designers presented a concept of the school to the Minister, Dimitri Shashkini, ambassadors of the Italian Republic, the Federal Republic of Germany, the Republic of France, the United Kingdom, and other invited guests.

Fabrizio Giugiaro is implementing the project “Green Batumi 2020” in Georgia. During his visit to Georgia, he also introduced this project to the audience. Fabrizio Giugiaro was granted Doctor Honoris Causa by the Technical University.

Giorgetto Giugiauro has created more than 50 models of automobiles, among them are designs for Ferrari and Lamborghini. He has also cooperated with  Nikon, Apple and Marille.

Fabrizio Giugiaro has developed Juventus new Stadium concept, new campus of Torino University, and the Metro of Copenhagen.

Successful Georgian and foreign designers, as well as professors, will give lectures at the new International School of Design. This initiative will be implemented under the Presidential program that envisages the recruitment of foreign teachers and professors to Georgia in order to work at Georgian state universities.
