Social vulnerable students will start their studies at Vocational colleges from May 1st

Voucher based financing started beginning on March 19. Volunteers willing to acquire vocational education will be granted with 1000GEL vouchers and the opportunity to study at their preferred educational institutions. Students from socially vulnerable families have already started to register.

Currently, 1,490 people have registered in the Tbilisi, Kutaisi and Kobuleti Information centers. They have chosen from the following fields of studies: tourism, construction, agriculture, IT technologies, engineering. 

Today, First Deputy Minister Koka Sepherteladze invited the prospective students of Spektri vocational college and presented them to the staff of the institution.

For this year, the college has launched several new courses. Classrooms for these new courses have been equipped with the latest simulators from Caterpillar and modern welding devises of Lincoln Electric, unique tools that have no comparison in Georgia and were purchased with funding from the USAID Vocational Education project.

The following education programs operate in “Spektri”: road builder, carpenter, bricklayer, plasterer, sanitary-engineer, circuit installer of lightning and power mains, auto mechanic, refrigerating system and air conditioning system technician, IT operator, accountant-book keeper, office manager, personal computer server and etc.

“Spektri” cooperates with Georgian and foreign businessmen, development companies, producers and other sectors.

Students from socially vulnerable families and active 9th and 12th graders who have decided to proceed with their education at vocational educational institutions will be fully financed by the Ministry.
