Greenery Event for the commemoration of the “Day of the Earth”

National Center for Quality Enhancement (NCEQE) under the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia (MES) has held a Greenery Event for the commemoration of the “Day of the Earth.” The first Deputy Minister, Koka Seperteladze has participated in the event.

NCEQE staff together with the first Deputy Minister has planted 200 pine trees in Gldani district. Ecology and greenery agency under Tbilisi City Hall has facilitated the event, aiming to raise awareness about nature protection and creation of healthier environment. Support of the events designed to protect environment is very important.

Preservation, restoration and protection of natural environmental conditions  is  a priority direction for every progressive country. A new plant is associated with a new life and it is very important for future generations.

The “Day of the Earth” has been celebrated since 1970 and it is one of the large scale events dedicated to environmental protection, in which more than ten thousand organizations of 175 countries of the world and more than million volunteers worldwide participate. The Day of the Earth was celebrated for the first time in Georgia in 1990.
