High School exams will start on May 21

Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Dimitri Shashkini has announced High School Exams start date for 2011-2012 academic year, during his meeting with senior students of Tbilisi № 82 Public School.

Minister has stressed the importance of High School Exams and talked about barriers and evaluation system with students of №82 Public School. In the end of the meeting, Minister participated in Q & A session as well.

Similar to the last year, High School exams for 2011-2012 academic year will be conducted with the help of Computer Adaptive Test (CAT) examination model in 8 subjects. The competence level will remain unchanged for this year as well, which is 5.5. All schools of Georgia will hold exams in each subject on the same date. All schools are equipped with appropriate equipment and capable to conduct examinations.

“Abituri” Hours have been conducted in all schools throughout entire year, when 12th graders have chance to revise studied materials and prepare for High School Exams.

Experimental test has been carried out in 2012, from April 6 till April 13 in almost 170 schools of different regions of Georgia with participation of almost eight thousand students. During pre-tests 12th graders worked on tasks of High School Exams, thus getting acquainted with the environment.

All participants will be able to see pre-test results on NAEC web-site, via special search system, from April 25.

Minister considers that High School Exams for 2011-2012 academic year will be conducted without complications and in accordance to high standards.
