A New Project Will be Launched Together with Private Schools

Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Dimitri Shashkini, together with the Minister of Labor, Health and Social Affairs, Zurab Tchiaberashvili visited private school “Tbilisi Green School” with first form schoolchildren Luka Guledani, Aleksandre Kumsiashvili and Lizi Nanava. Children are from vulnerable families and they will study at “Tbilisi Green School” from September 15.

Ministry of Education and Science with the Ministry of Labor, Health and Social Affairs starts new project from 2012-2013 academic years. Georgian private schools will give an opportunity to children from vulnerable families to study at private schools, receive high quality education and use the modern infrastructure without tuition fees. This project is for those children, whose families need special support.

According to the new project, studying at private schools will be the privilege for the talented, motivated schoolchildren as well as for certain part of society. The schools will make decisions on selection and number of admitted schoolchildren on their own. By the Minister’s decision, Georgian government and the Ministry of Education and Science will support the development of private schools.

Previous year “Tbilisi Green School” purchased Tbilisi Public School N134 and today is the best one with the infrastructure. School has to modern libraries, classrooms and labs, operates resource officers and modern security service. The school is fully adapted to the environment. Vulnerable children will get same privileges, as other children in the “Tbilisi Green School”.
