Integrated examination in the English Language and Computer Literacy has started

Today, certified teachers will take integrated exam in the English language and computer literacy. Those teachers who successfully pass the exam will receive surplus to their salaries in the amount of 125GEL; those with highest scores, identified in top 25% after having passed integrated exams will receive augmented salary up to 1000GEL. The examination will be held for the second time this year with enrollment of more than 2000 certified teachers. The integrated examination tests both English language and computer literacy.

The integrated exams have been observed by the First Deputy Minister, Koka Seperteladze, Nead of National Examinations Center, Maia Miminoshvili and Head of Teacher professional Development Center, Gia Mamulashvili.

The examination aims to explore teachers’ capabilities to search for the information relevant to the schooling process, only available in the English language and thus develop his/her proficiency. For the abovementioned, a teacher is required to possess general computer skills.

Teachers’ certification process is designed to increase teachers’ qualification and their salaries. Certified teacher salary scheme is as follows: certified teachers will receive supplemental allowance in the range of 75GEL; successfully passed exams in the English language and computer will be remunerated with 200GEL; those with highest scores, identified in top 25% after having passed integrated exams will receive augmented salary up to 1000GEL. Teachers who will take lab exams will get additional 75GEL.
