School Session of European Youth Parliament has been held

School Session of European Youth parliament is being held for April 28-30. The Session has been opened in school “Olymp” today and has been attended by the representative of the Ministry, Head of National Curriculum and General Education Development Department, Mrs. Natia Jokhadze. A topic of the session is “Youth-as a part of a Civic Society.” Almost 80 senior students of 11 Public Schools have participated in the session of the simulated European Parliament. General Assembly will be held on April 30 in the first building of Tbilisi State University.

In the frames of the session, school students are distributed around different committees and hold discussions on different actual issues, after which they are expected to come up with the resolution and present it in the English Language. Discussion topics refer to existing issues in the European Union as well as relationship between Georgian and the European Union. In the official final closing stage of the event, all participating students will be granted certificates.

European Youth Parliament as a school project was established in 1987 in France. Later on the project gained big interest among students. In 2008 Georgian organization became official member. Since then, many sessions are held in Tbilisi, as well as in different regions of Georgia, like Batumi, Zugdidi, Dusheti and Bordjomi.
