From May 7^th, 2500 students from socially vulnerable families commenced their studies at  vocational colleges. They received funding with amount of 1000 GEL.

The voucher funding system has been introduced in vocational education this year, by the initiative of the President. From 2012, all citizens of Georgia who want to master new profession at vocational college will be provided with voucher of 1000 GEL. Overall, 7000 persons will be trained in the scope of a new program. Along with the persons from socially vulnerable families, funding will be provided to those school students who complete the basic or secondary level of education and decide to pursue a vocational education.

Today, the Minister Dimitri Shashkini visited a vocational college ”Spektri” in Tbilisi and met those students who, as a part of the above mentioned initiative, started their studies there.

The students have opportunity to pursue various specialties at the institution, among them are: specialist of electronic and digital devices, electrician, technician, web specialist, etc.
