Second phase of financing vocational education has started

Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia has activated the second phase of distributing vocational education 1000 GEL worth vouchers. At this time, 1500 volunteers will be given a chance to study at vocational education institutions. Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Dimitri Shashkini visited vocational education information center in Tbilisi and personally handed voucher to one of the future students.

During the second phase, the Ministry will provide the socially vulnerable students, 9th graders and 12th graders with vocational education vouchers. 3rd phase of the vocational education financing will start in autumn, and 2500 volunteers will be granted with vouchers.  Nowadays, 2500 students are studying at vocational colleges and 1700 of them are socially vulnerable.

Government of Georgia pays much attention to the development of vocational education system: colleges are being renovated; the educational programs are adjusted to the requirements of labor market, new system of vocational education financing has been initiated by the President.  

As a result of the reforms implemented by the Ministry, the employment rate of the graduates of the vocational colleges increased to 75%.

Vocational education vouchers will be distributed at vocational education information centers of Tbilisi, Kutaisi and Kobuleti.
