Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia with the support of Agency for International development (USAID) is implementing Georgia Primary Education Project (G-Pried) “Teacher Professional Development Project for Georgian Language and Math teachers (1-6 grades).
The aim of the project is to improve achievements of pupils and teaching methods in primary grades in Reading and Math. In order to achieve this goal Georgian language and Math teachers will be offered innovative trainings on student-oriented teaching strategies. Along with this, professional development program will be implemented on school basis. Within the framework of this project parents engagement strategies will be elaborated. The schools will be supplied with different teaching materials: reading materials, manipulative for math teaching and evaluation instruments.
The pilot phase of the project will start in February 2013 and end in June 2014. Initially, 121 Georgian schools will be involved in this project. Due to limitations in numbers, it is a special request for schools to fill applications on time. The process of receiving applications will start on 17 December and end on 21 December.
