Work on Vocational Education strategy starts

Meeting of working
group was held at the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia in the
framework of “EU technical support program “Quality Enhancement and Capacity Building
in VET sector”. The work group includes representatives of the Ministry,
agencies, educational institutions, donor organizations and social partners.
Achievements of a new Strategy 2009-1012 will be based on the challenges in VET education in Georgia and throughout the modern world.
Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Ketevan Natriashvili participated in the meeting. Challenges and achievements of Georgian vocational education were discussed and possible priorities for the following years were presented.
Specific goals and terms for the strategy were elaborated in the framework of the meeting. The participants came to a conclusion that it is important to enhance quality of and access to vocational education, as well as involvement of stakeholders.
Work group will hold regular meetings in order to discuss priorities and reflect them in the strategy document.
