Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Aluda Goglichidze together with head of civil group of the Department of National Curriculum Tea Karchava held a meeting with the representatives of EUROCLIO (European Association of History Educators) and heads of Association of Georgian History Educators – a member organization of EUROCLIO. The meeting was attended by the members of Association of History educators from Ukraine and EU Mission cultural attaché to Georgia.
The guests introduced to the Deputy Minister and head of civil group of the Department a regional project which is under way with the financial support of EUROCLIO . Teachers from five countries (Georgia, Ukraine, Moldova, Azerbaijan and Armenia) will be involved in the project. Additional resource will be created in the framework of the project for the teachers and students of the five countries. This will encourage innovative teaching of history.
Aluda Goglichidze and Tea Karchava gave a positive evaluation to the prospects of future cooperation between the Association and Georgian teachers. Participating parties expressed their desire to improve methods of teaching the subject along with readiness to take into consideration experience and human resource of EUROCLIO in the process of planning teacher trainings and increasing level of qualification.
