Discussion of new Draft Strategy on Vocational Education

Initial discussion of new draft strategy on vocational education was held at the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia. The meeting was held in the framework of the EU financed project “Quality Enhancement and Capacity Building Support Programme in VET Sector of Georgia”. Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Ketevan Natriashvili attended the meeting together with the parties interested in the Project.

The aim of the broad meeting was to introduce initial draft strategy on vocational education to the public and take into consideration their ideas and remarks

Working process on vocational education strategy for the years 2013-2020 started in January, 2013. Representatives from the Ministry, National Center for  Educational Quality Enhancement, Teachers’ Professional Development Center, Vocational Colleges, donor organizations and social partners are involved in the process.

The goal of the program is to ensure quality of vocational education. Students of vocational colleges -persons of different age groups and abilities will be the beneficiaries of the Project. They will be able to acquire desired qualification of high quality. Obtained skill will considerably increase their employment possibilities and private sector will be provided with qualified staff.
