The Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia announces beginning of registration of first graders for the year 2013-2014 from April 1, 2013. Parents are able to take their children to school from the age of 5 in case if a child reaches the age by September 15. Parents make decision regarding the age themselves.

Online registration in 3 stages will be available:

Stage I. 01/04/2013 - 19/04/2013

Registration will be carried out only for those pupils whose:

• siblings go to the same school
• parents teach in the same school
• families have  two or more children entering the first grade (twins, siblings)

Stage II. 25/04/2013-03/07/2013

Total online registration of first graders will be carried out

Special application form will be posted on the following web-sites www.registration.emis.ge; www.mes.gov.ge. A parent chooses only one school and enters information about a child in the registration form. The information has to include the following: name, surname and personal number. Place of residence is irrelevant for online registration.

A parent receives a text message with a unique code from the system upon successful registration. It is necessary to keep the code.

Parents are able to choose a school on the following web-site www.catalog.edu.ge, where detailed information on all public schools is available.

It is obligatory for a parent to submit pupil’s documentation to a school within the period of 2 weeks. After the deadline is over, the system will automatically annul the registration. 

Stage III.  29/06/2013 - 05/07/2013

Parents will be able to re-register for a vacant place if they wish so. 

A parent can annul registration using the unique code and personal number. If a parent decides to register a child in other school and annul the previous registration, he/she has to check vacant places in a particular school shown in a window which will appear on a screen.  

The Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia shall award all first graders with portable computers.
