Psychological Center to provide Psychological assistance to the pupils

A new physiological center started to operate with the initiative of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and based in the Office of Resource Officers of Educational Institutions. Today, Minister Giorgi Margvelashvili introduced the project to the journalists.

Psychological center of the Office of Resource Officers is composed of psychologists, child psychiatrists and social workers. They will be able to provide qualified psycho-social assistance to the pupils from the age of 6 to 18 with behavioral and emotional problems and their family members. Assistance includes the following:

  • Developing self control and impulsive behavior management skills
  • Decreasing aggressive behavior
  • Regulation of emotions
  • Solving problematic issues of relations with the peers
  • Developing communication and conflict management skills
  • Improving communication between a child and a parent
  • Management of interpersonal relations

The Center will conduct educational activities together with school teachers, administration and Resource Officers. The services include individual as well as group therapy and thematic trainings.

It is planned to open similar psychological centers in Batumi, Kutaisi, Gori and Telavi.
