Within the framework of the activities of II compact “General Education Quality Enhancement Component” aimed at improving school infrastructure financed by MCA Georgia on May 14, 2013, a tender was announced on the purchase of consultation service for “Developing Public School Designs and Conducting Environment protection protection/social/gender related Research”.

Selected consultants are required to present tender proposals on rehabilitation of 37 public schools for the initial stage (in total 130 public schools will be rehabilitated in three stages), as well as documents on environment protection and social policy that comply with international standards. These documents will define set of rules (framework) for rehabilitation process; they have to include framework documents on environment protection and social management, environment protection and social management action plan, solid and hazardous waste management plan, employment, health and safety rules and monitoring.   

Infrastructure of selected school, among them heating system, electricity, water supply and sewage systems, is in critical conditions.

Activities aimed at improving infrastructure cover complete internal and external rehabilitation and provision with modern laboratories.

Rehabilitation process will create preconditions for installation of proper lighting, air conditioning systems and comfortable environment in general.
