The Minister spoke about important issues such as 10 compulsory exams for the 12^th graders of  both, public and private schools, as well as the future changes in National Curriculum. According to these changes in the curriculum, the 60% of school materials will be created according to the state standards, while the 40% will be created by teachers or schools according to their choice.

At the meeting the Minister also talked about school authorization process instead of giving license, replacing physical culture with sport lessons, new components of children evaluation process, teachers certification and other innovations planned in the educational system in 2010-2011. Dimitri Shashkini  answered teachers’ questions regarding different issues.

Currently there are 283 private schools in Georgia. 138 of these schools are located in Tbilisi and others are placed in different regions.  13 of the private schools are Russian-Georgian  and 4 of them are non-Georgian schools.
