Reforming General Education considering economic development and labor market demands

A work meeting was held in 42 Ilia Vekua public school on the topic of “reforming general education  considering economic development and labor market demands.”

Thematic meeting was attended by Deputy Minister Aluda Goglichidze, representatives from Education Management and Development and National Curriculum Departments, representatives from general, vocational and higher educational institutions, International donor organizations and large private companies operating in Georgia.

The following presentations were made: “Conceptual vision of national Curriculum and reference to economics of knowledge”, results of surveys conducted by HR professionals and National Human Resource Association was discussed. The aim of the survey was to identify basic problems in recruitment of human resources. Problems in vocational and higher education were also discussed.

The second part of the meeting was dedicated to identification of basic problems in the field of general education in relation to labor market.
