№2 Martkopi Public School is 250 years old

№2 Martkopi Public School celebrates its 250th anniversary with the project “St Anthony of Martkopi and 250 Years of Education in Martkopi”. Today, a number of events were organized within the Martkopi Public School Week. Minister of Education and Science Giorgi Margvelashvili attended the events together with other honorable guests.

Exhibition dedicated to the history of the School and the village was organized and opened within the framework of anniversary events together with other activities, such as open lesson and school conference. The Week was closed with a concert. 

Martkopi is a village with rich history and culture, №2 Public School is part of this history. St. Anthony laid foundation to the history of education in Martkopi. The School was transferred from St. Anthony’s cloister to village Martkopi in 1752.

A number of interesting traditions were established throughout 250 years. The School has up to 400 pupils and 45 teachers. The pupils are actively involved in School Olympiads, contests and conferences. Every year, university entrant from Martkopi Public School show very good results and receive grants.
