Psychological Center opened in Imereti Region

Minister of Education and
Science of Georgia opened a new physiological center based in the Office of
Resource Officers of Educational Institutions in Kutaisi. Psychological
center of the Office of Resource Officers is composed of psychologists, child
psychiatrists and social workers. They will be able to provide qualified
psycho-social assistance to the pupils from the age of 6 to 18 with behavioral
and emotional problems and their family members. Assistance includes the following:
- Developing self control and impulsive behavior management skills
- Decreasing aggressive behavior
- Regulation of emotions
- Solving problematic issues of relations with the peers
- Developing communication and conflict management skills
- Improving communication between a child and a parent
- Management of interpersonal relations
The Center will also conduct educational activities together with school teachers, administration and Resource Officers. The services include individual as well as group therapy and thematic trainings.
Psychological center was opened in Tbilisi in April. Pupils are sent to the Center on the basis of a recommendation of the Administration. Psychological center will provide assistance to the schools throughout Imereti Region.
