New school to be built in Adjarian village settled with eco migrants

Today, Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Giorgi Margvelashvili met teachers, pupils and residents of the village Samghereti, in Tetrtitskaro regarding the issue of building of a new school in the village. 

Samghereti public school was built in the 40-ies of the past century; the building is in a severe condition and cannot be reconstructed. There are only 12 classrooms in the school.   

New school will be built on a better site compared with the old school, which is situated near the cemetery. The new school shall have modern heating system, laboratories for natural science and information technologies, modern school desks, blackboards and new computers.  

Village Samghereti is settled with eco migrants; consequently it is a Georgian school. Currently, there are 100 pupils enrolled in Samghereti public school. 12 pupils are from Shikhlo Azerbaijani Elementary School. From February 2013, these pupils are provided with school bus service.

Index for demographic condition is rising in the village. The new school will be for 150 pupils. Learning environment in the school will enable a pupil to get the same quality education as offered by the European countries.
