The Ministry starts implementation of a new program

National Curriculum Department of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, with the financial support of UNICEF, starts implementation of a new project “Second chance of education for socially unprotected pupils, those with behavioral problems and pupils left beyond learning process in Georgia”.

The Program aims at developing national model of education for the public sector. The following activities are planned:

  • Survey of the situation concerning socially unprotected pupils, pupils with behavioral problems and those left beyond learning process in Georgia;
  • Identification of target groups according to the educational needs;
  • Creation of a list of educational resources for each target group;
  • Creation of discussion document of the national model.

The program shall serve as basis for the development of systemic approach towards the involvement of socially unprotected pupils, children with behavioral problems and those left beyond the learning process in formal education, as well as educational policy for the effective integration of the target groups.

Minister of Education and Science Giorgi Margvelashvili introduced the program to relevant state bodies, nongovernmental sector and representatives of international organizations.

The program will be implemented in cooperation with the Psychological Center of Office of Resource Officers of Educational Institutions.
