Special Committee reviewing cases of persons
employed in Education System of Georgia and dismissed on political grounds held
another work meeting at the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia. 830
applications addressed to the Committee were submitted to the Ministry before
January 14, 2013. The Committee has reviewed the applications and made
interim decisions on each of them: 565 applications were recognized as being
deficient, 203 applications were sent to the relevant department for the further
review as they concerned the issues beyond the Committee competences.
The Committee made a decision not to review 85 applications out
of 565, as deficiencies were not corrected by the end of the deadline.
212 applications are currently under revision.
Special Committee is composed of the representatives from the
Ministry, civil society organizations and Public Defender’s Office. Conclusion
of the Committee is of recommendative character for the Ministry as the
Committee only proves or denies the fact of dismissal on political grounds.
