Today a summarizing briefing was held in National Examination Center. It was emphasized that the examinations process has passed without complications. Only 2 entrants and 3 teachers were dismissed for procedural violations. 2% of entrants, 13% of teachers, 11% of Master course candidates and 8% of those who wished to improve grant conditions haven’t showed up on the examinations.

18 Examination Centers were opened in 12 cities of Georgia due to unprecedented number of applicants.

Unified National Examinations started with the examination in Georgian Language and Literature on June 17 and ended with the examination in Physics on July 17. Teachers joined the examination process on July 3. Unified Master Examination was held on July 9-10 and students grant competition – on July 15.

Medical unit was operating in each Examination Center. Ambulance and rescue service were on duty on the territory of the Centers. Patrol Police was providing security and order

Approximately 42 000 entrants, over 8000 persons wishing to improve grant conditions, over 9 500 Master students and 25 000 teachers were registered for Unified National Examinations 2013.

The majority of entrants – 30 000 – chose English Language. Approximately 14 500 entrants chose History as a selective subject. 1 entrant and four teachers passed examinations with the help of Braille script. About 200 persons with special educational needs, 9 inmates and up to 180 foreign citizens took the exams.

Entrants will be able to change selected Higher Education Institutions, programs, their number and sequence even after the initial results are announced. This kind of system will enable future students to make a more realistic choice.
