Training for first grade head teachers

Before the beginning of new school year, all first grade head teachers will pass training on the topic of a special net-book for first graders - “Buki”. Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Tamar Sanikidze and Director of Teachers Professional Development Center Gia Mamulashvili familiarized themselves with the course of training.  

The training covers two stages and several direstions:

  • working in text editor
    • creation of teaching video, search of educational resources in the Internet
    • For the first time this year, first grade teachers shall pass Intel educational course.
  • presentation program and administration of class management program
  • Public Schools are starting the new school year 2013-2014 with a number of novelties:
  • Technical characteristics of “Buki” has been improved (volume of the hard disk has doubled). This will make possible to use “Buki” for the 2nd and 3rd grades.
  • New teaching-educational games have been created. Game updates and creation of new games will continue in future.
  • For the first time this year, every first grade head teacher will receive a notebook instead of “Buki”
  • Additional WiFi routers are being installed in every public school. This will ensure better involvement of pupils in the learning process.
  • Interactive web-portal of National Curriculum has been created. The goal of the project is to join all the materials together and to provide comfortable search system according to classification etc. Subjects guidelines, lesson plans, result-oriented activities defined according to National Curriculum, tasks, different methodic literature will be available on the portal.
  • IT managers of public schools have passed Intel training.

„1:1 First stage of “Electronic teaching” will be conducted in August and the second stage – after the beginning of the new school year. 2400 teachers will be trained throughout Georgia. Every first grade head teacher starting their work from September will be trained as well.
