All schools in Samtredia will be supplied with natural gas next year

Minister of Education and Science Tamar Sanikidze and Minister of Energy Kakha Kaladze familiarized themselves with the rehabilitation works conducted in Samtredia Public School  8 and village Dabla Gomi Public School. Currently rehabilitation works are under way in 11 public schools in Samtredia Municipality; ten of them are village schools. 

Many schools in Samtredia Municipality are not supplied with gas, among them Public School  8 and village Dabla Gomi Public School, within school infrastructure rehabilitation and development program and with coordination of the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Energy, gas supply and heating systems have been installed in 22 schools this year.

According to Minister of Energy, Gas Transportation Company will conduct relevant works in the remained 17 villages this year. Schools in these villages will be supplied with natural gas next year.

 

Rehabilitation works are being conducted in 162 schools of Imereti Region. Currently, major part of the works is reaching its final stage. Rehabilitation process is under way in 600 schools throughout Georgia.   

Improvement of school infrastructure and construction of modern standard schools represent one of the major priorities of the Ministry of Education. The aim of the Ministry is to create modern and comfortable environment for pupils.  

The process of infrastructure rehabilitation will continue in future. New schools will be constructed with modern design and infrastructure, taking into consideration safety standards and other standards set forth in international conventions.
