European Day of Languages

An event dedicated to European Day of Languages was held for children aged 7-14 at Tbilisi Youth Palace with the patronage of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, the Ministry of  Education and Science of Georgia, the Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs and with the support of the EU Delegation to Georgia.

The event was attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs Maia Panjikidze, Deputy Minister of Education and Science Lia Gigauri and Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs Levan Kipiani.

European Day of Languages was established by the Council of Europe in 2011 to celebrate cultural diversity of Europe. Today, European Day of Languages is celebrated around the world.

For the first time this year, EUNIC (European Union National Institutes for Culture) has organized the event dedicated to the European Day at Tbilisi Youth Palace. Small work-shops of languages, competition “Language Passport” and an acoustic concert performed by Merab Nutsubidze were organized within the framework of the event.
