Special Commission studies needs of population of the villages located near demarcation line

Governmental Commission was set up to respond to the needs of residents of the villages located near the demarcation line. The decision on setting up the Commission was made during the Government Session on October 1. Today, the first meeting has been held at the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure. The work process of the Commission was headed by Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Davit Narmania and State Minister of Georgia for Reintegration Paata Zakareishvili. Representatives of the Ministries, the Department of Relation with Regions and Bodies of Local Self-Governances of the State Chancellery of the Government of Georgia, Deputy Minister of Education and Science Lia Gigauri were among the members of the Commission.  

It was emphasized during the meeting that one of the main problems for the population of such villages is gas and firewood supply. The issues of providing heating for schools, transportation of pupils and involvement of international organizations in the process were discussed during the session.
