The competition “Georgian Calligraphy” has been conducted since 2010. It is held annually.
The school of Georgian calligraphy has centuries-long history. Hand-written books have become a cultural and national phenomenon. Groups of scribes working in monasteries paid particular attention to the shapes of the Georgian alphabet, adorned letters and decorative elements. Hand-made works are rather expensive in different countries of the world.
