Working meeting of WorldSkills Georgia

Working meeting of WorldSkills Georgia was held at Courtyard Marriot, organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement and German Society for International Cooperation. First Deputy Minister of Education and Science Ketevan Natriashvili, Director of National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement Elene Jibladze, Head of GIZ Vocational Education Teachers and Leaders Training Center in the South Caucasus Mikaela Operman-Gartner, Presidents of Trade Unions, Georgian Employers’ Association and Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry attended the meeting.

For the first time last summer, Georgia participated in 42nd WorldSkills Competition as an associate member in Leipzig, Germany. WorldSkills Georgia team members talked about the impressions and experience.

Georgian team was presented by 3 contestants: Ucha Ghviniashvili a web-designer, Evgeni Morozov a welder and Tinatin Iordanishvili a cook. Ucha Ghviniashvili won two medals. He received Best of Nations medallion and Medallion of Excellence on the closing ceremony.

Denny Gauch, Head of WorldSkills Germany Strategic Service spoke about other countries’ experience and future plans. Presentation of video clips prepared with the support of GIZ to popularize vocational education was made during the meeting.
