Closing Conference of the Project

The EU-financed project “Quality Enhancement and Capacity-Building Programme in VET Sector of Georgia” has been running since 2012 with the initiative of National Center for Quality Enhancement of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia. Italian organization “IFOA” has been implementing the program.

Today, a closing conference of the project was held. The conference was opened by Ketevan Natriashvili, First Deputy Minister of Education and Thomas Black, Head of the Project Team. Achieve results were summarized and a film on module programs was presented at the conference.

The following results have been achieved within the framework of the project:

  • New Strategy on vocational education for the years 2013-2020;
  • Review of professional standards in fifteen directions using the European methodology, the so called DACUM;
  • Concept of shifting to module programs and auxiliary materials;
  • Practical training guidelines and alumni questionnaires elaborated with active participation of employers.
  • Quality enhancement guidelines for self-assessment as well as external assessment. 

The project also envisaged trainings in each direction. In total, more than 1000 representatives of vocational education institutions and organization have been trained. 

Representatives from the Ministry, the EU and vocational institutions participated in the conference.
