December 3, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Ketevan Natriashvili visited vocational college “Spektri” and met students with special educational needs .
For the first time in 2013, people with disabilities are given an opportunity to acquire vocational education. 51 students with special educational needs study at State vocational colleges throughout Georgia. 8 students are studying on various vocational education programs at vocational college “Spektri”: environment technician, web-specialist, constructor of roads and airfields, computer network and system technician, tile paver and (house) painter.
Presentation of a film “Destroying a wall” by Levan Tetvadze was held in the college. Vocational students were able to share emotions and feelings about the film in written form or with the help of sketches.
600 students are acquiring up to 30 vocations free of charge at college “Spektri”. A transparent and fair enrollment on vocational programs at State vocational colleges has been introduced by the Ministry in 2013.
