Sulkhan Sisauri, Head of Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation awarded authors of innovative projects within the competition “Leonardo Da Vinci 2013”.

According to the Commission, Nika Alavidze and Davit Chkheidze became Grand  Prix  holders for the invention “Active Filter” (A. Razmadze №41  Physics-Mathematical Public School of Kutaisi). The winners will travel abroad with a cognitive tour. Saba Mamukashvili, holder of the 1^st place received a money prize in the amount of  5000 GEL for the project “Orthopedic Vest” (Public School №137), the 2^nd place  and a money prize in the amount of 3000 GEL went to Nino Khimshiashvili, Besarion Kvatsikheli and Zaza Iremadze for the project “Clever Traffic Lights” (Batumi Secular Elite School  of Ltd. “Gorda”). The 3^rd place holder Temur  Chichua received 2000 Gel for the project “Transformer Clepsidrone”( Public School №4). 

With the initiative of Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation, the competition merged with the similar international competition of Intel. Consequently, the winner of Leonardo Da Vinci 2013 will travel to the USA in Spring in order to participate in similar competition.

The best projects selected within the competition are exhibited in Expo Georgia. All participants were awarded with diplomas. 

Competition “Leonardo Da Vinchi” has been organized by the Ministry of Education and Science and Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation since 2011. The competition aims at increasing interest towards innovations and progress, promotion of creative and talented children. Pupils under 18 are eligible to participate in the competition.
