New schools are being constructed in villages Mukhrani and Tsilkani of Mtskheta District. Today, Minister of Education and Science Tamar Sanikidze visited the site. The Minister received necessary information on the construction process from the representatives of the school and the builders.
Educational and Scientific Infrastructure Development Agency of the Ministry is carrying out the construction process in the villages Mukhrani and Tsilkani. The process started in the end of the last year. These schools are among those nine schools to be constructed during the current year.
The old building of Mukhrani Public School 2 was built in the end of the last century and needed to be repaired severely, for this reason teaching/learning process has been terminated since 2012. At present the school is optimized with Mukhrani Public School 1. Conditions are the same in Tsilkani Public School.
The new buildings shall meet modern standards. Heating system, a gym, halls, a library, IT and natural sciences class-laboratories will be available. The school will be adapted to serve the needs of pupils with special educational needs. The pupils will be able to start going to the new school from the beginning of a new school year. Mukhrani Public School is designed for 240 pupils and Tsilkani Public School –for 450 pupils.
Infrastructural development remains one of the main priorities for the current 2014. More than 600 schools were rehabilitated and heating systems were installed in more than 80 schools last year.
