World Education Forum

World Education Forum 2014 is taking place in London from January 20. The Forum is attended by 133 delegations among them, 101 ministers of education. Minister of Education and Science of Georgia and Deputy Minister Lia Gigauri are attending the Forum. The visit was arranged by  the British Council.

The goal of the Forum is to define common education policy.  Issues that represent a common challenge and need a unified approach are discussed within the framework of the Forum. Decision-makers on the issues in the field of education meet one another and share experience.

As Tamar Sanikidze noted, participation of the Georgian delegation in World Forum is important, the Ministry of Education  and Science of Georgia is working on the topics discussed in the course of the Forum. Among the topics to be discussed are the following:

  • Teacher professional development
  • Use of modern technologies in the educational process
  • Active involvement and development of education leaders
  • Teaching\learning quality  etc.

Representatives of the Georgian delegation are able to hold meetings on Georgian projects with education experts from different countries individually and hear their evaluation and recommendations.
