A working meeting on the topic of inclusive vocational education was organized at vocational college “Spectri”. First Deputy Minister of Education and Science Ketevan Natriashvili, directors of vocational colleges, field experts, stakeholders and the organizations participated in the meeting.
The goal of the meeting was to discuss the projects that enable disabled people to acquire vocation and become employed. The participants were able to share experience. The projects accomplished last year were discussed, outcomes were analyzed and future strategies and action plans were defined based on the example of vocational college “Spektri”.
Implementation of inclusive education in vocational education and training represents one of the main priorities of the Ministry. The project is being carried out in 6 education institutions throughout Georgia with the financial support of the Ministry of Education and Research of Norway. The project aims at ensuring better access to vocational education for disabled people and providing transition process from general education towards employment phase through vocational education system.
