The delegation of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia held a number of meetings in London as part of the World Education Forum. Tamar Sanikidze held individual meetings with Education Ministers of different countries, experts of science management and professors in the field of pedagogical education.
The most fruitful meeting was held with Shai Piron, Minister of Education of Israel and Martin Davidson, Executive Director of the British Council. “It was a pleasure to meet the Minister and to discuss education reforms in Georgia and the ways the UK can work on those together with Georgia”-stated Martin Davidson.
Better and more effective English language education and use of IT in teaching, development of materials, trainings and curriculum were discussed at the meeting, together with the issues of strengthening ties between the universities of Georgia and the UK, offering British degrees and courses by the Georgian universities in partnership with the British universities. “We would be glad to see things going forward in this direction and we hope that soon some universities in the UK will arrange visits to Georgia in order to explore the ideas.” – stated the British expert.
