For the first time in Georgia, American universities together with Georgian state universities will carry out educational programs in engineering and natural sciences. Alumni shall receive diploma of an American university. The Project is carried out within the framework of MCC Second Compact signed in 2013 between Georgia and America. The university selected by the international commission   will be known in March. A working meeting of the Commission was held in the Hotel Sheraton.

A tender board composed of international experts will select the winner. Currently, two semi-finalist American universities are being reviewed together with Georgian state universities. These universities are: San Diego State University and North Carolina State University together with Auburn University.

The Goal of Georgian-American joint project is to offer international-level  bachelor educational programs in natural sciences, technologies and engineering.

“We shall develop and implement an educational program for future qualified specialists if our University wins. This will help Georgian economy,” stated Marian McCord, representative of North Carolina State University.

As Nancy Marlin, Provost of San Diego State University noted – We are planning to offer to Georgian students educational programs in natural sciences, engineering, technologies and maths with American accreditation. We’ll be working with Georgian universities, so that they are able to gain American accreditation.
