Minister visited the school under construction in village Abano

A new school is being built in village Abano, Kareli Municipality. Tamar Sanikidze, Minister of Education, Davit Narmania, Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure and Paata Zakareishvili, Head of  the Office of   the State Minister of Georgia for Reconciliation and Civic Equality visited the site and met with the school representatives and the builders.

Abano School was destroyed in the 90s. 50 pupils have been going to school arranged in miners’ division building for 13 years. Though, because of harsh conditions they were forced to leave this building in the beginning of 2013-2014 school year.  The pupils and 16 teachers have been going to Satsikhuri Public School for the last few months. They are provided with school bus services daily to reach the school.  

The construction process started in the beginning of December. The new school shall have a heating system, a gym, a library, conference halls and natural science labs. The school is designed for 90 pupils. The construction process ends in December 2014. 

The Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia is building 9 public schools  in different regions of Georgia and majority of them will be finished by the end of 2014.
