A presentation of the project “Numerical modeling of River Mtkvari Pollution” was held in 199 Komarov Public School of Tbilisi within the program “Researches with students’ participation” financed by the Ministry. Minister of Education Tamar Sanikidze attended the presentation. Under the project, the students studied the process of the river pollution from the State border to Mingechauri reservoir in different situations.
Results of the scientific research make it possible to evaluate the degree of river pollution at times of emergency situations. In case of emergency, the information will enable a variety of environmental services to resolve environmental safety issues. Research works lasted three months led by Dr. Alexander Surmava.
High school students’ engagement in scientific researches is the best way to make science interesting for them, develop their research skills and to improve education quality in general. Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation program was initiated last year. In 2013, 4 researches of Komarov school students were financed.
