About 1500 Teachers Passed the Voluntary Pilot Testing

In the scope of the teachers’ voluntary certification, pilot testing was carried out in Kutaisi, on 27-28, February. 

The pre exam experimental tests were prepared by the National Examination Center. The testing was held at 4 centers at the same time. The textual tasks, the process of exam administration mechanisms as well as the informational-technological support were examined.

The teachers from Imereti, Samegrelo, Guria and Achara passed the pilot exams. The testing  was  held  in Mathematics, Georgian Language and Literature and professional abilities.

The testing, carried out on 27, February, started at 11 o’clock, at Kutaisi public school #3. The process was observed by the Deputy Minister of Education and Science, Ms. Irine Kurdadze, Mayor of Kutaisi, Giorgi Tevdoradze and the Director of National Examination Center, Ms. Maia Miminoshvili.

Taking part in the certification is voluntary and it is financed by the government. Firstly, the exams will be held in Georgian Language and Literature, Foreign Languages and Mathematics. Majority of these subject matter teachers have already passed additional training courses, financed by the government.

The first certification exams will be held in Summer, 2010. National Examination Center will provide the exams with specifically created tests and will carry out the examining process. Experts of the center began working on the content and the format of the certification exams two years ago.
