Project: Supporting Preschool Education Sector

Donor Organization: The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF)

Goal: Producing recommendations for improving preschool education sector management; creating pedagogical resources and methodological textbooks and making them available for preschool education professionals.

Main Activities:

• Drafting Preschool education policy documents; establishing working group for policy issues; facilitating dialogue between the stakeholders interested in preschool education sector;  developing a vision for the development of pre-school education sector  and medium-term strategic action-plan;
• Developing preschool education teachers’ methodological manual, pre-school curriculum, teacher training module and preschool education process assessment instrument;
• Developing school readiness assessment instrument; conducting the school readiness study;
• Supporting inclusive education at preschool level; assessing children with special educational needs and developing individual study plans.

Partners: National Curriculum and Assessment Center, Preschool education experts and professionals.

Present outputs: Policy review documents are developed; multiple meetings were held among the stakeholders interested in preschool education sector; A group of experts was selected to work on developing teachers’ methodological manual; A framework for teachers’ methodological manual has been established; ‘Early learning and development standards’ has been finalized; ‘Environmental standards for preschool education institution’ has been finalized.
