National Olympics 2010 Has Started

Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Dimitri Shashkini and Director of the National Examinations Center Maia Miminoshvili visited the centre located at the Public School #89 and wished good luck to the high school students participating in the National Olympics. The Minister was particularly pleased by the fact that 10 blind pupils participated in the Olympics. “Inclusive Education is prior for the Ministry,”- he said.

The goal of the National Olympics is to reveal best high school students, support the education reform, stimulate the school life, encourage teachers and pupils, reveal the candidates of Georgian team for international olympics.

First selection tour of the National Olympics will be held in Tbilisi and all regional centers from 9 to 17 January. On 10 January, 33 775 pupils will participate in Math Olympics.

Upon the initiative of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, from 2009 National Olympics will be held every year in the following subjects: Georgian Language and literature, mathematics, foreign languages, history, geography, physics, chemistry, biology; information technology.

The preparation and organization process of the National Olympics will be supported by the National Examinations Centre.
