The second session of the
inter-agency commission responsible for determination of the propriety of
changes made in the law about “Recognition of education obtained on occupied
territories” was held at the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia. The
session was chaired by Lia Gigauri, the Georgian Deputy Minister of Education
and Science. Apart from representatives of the Ministry of Education and
Science, the meeting was attended by representatives of the Administration of
South Ossetia, Ministry of Education and Culture of Autonomous Republic of
Abkhazia, Ministry of Internal Affairs and Office of the State Minister of
Georgia for Reconciliation and Civic Equality.
The purpose of the formation of the
commission is to ensure the flexibility of the law about the recognition of
education obtained on an occupied territory and to complete the procedure for
recognition so that entrants residing on occupied territories
of Georgia are provided with maximum support in terms of the recognition of
education and so that they can deal with procedural problems in a timely
manner.
